You will need to straighten that out first before selling it. You can call the Dept. or Natural Resources. Give them the HIN or the registration numbers and get the last registered owner to establish chain of ownership. Inform them of your situation. Be 100% truthful. For all you know, the PO may not have been the last registered owner and that is why the lack of cooperation. They may direct you to get a hull inspection and with bill of sale get it registered in your name.

Funny thing is a buddy was looking at a ski just like yours from a guy in Georgia who had a ski originally from South Carolina sold to a 2nd buyer. The 2nd buyer then registered it and after some time sold it to the 3rd buyer. This 3rd buyer "lost the registration card that blew out the ski as he was riding" and never registered it or might have had another seller at that time for all we know. Then tried to sell it on CL. Be careful.

Sage advice. If it were not for the itch for another full size boat I would just keep the thing. It runs awesome. I suppose some investigative work is in order either way. I appreciate the advice. Thanks.

Call the Dept of Natural Resources and they will direct you. I would get the last registered owner and advise them it's in both your interest for the ski to be out of his registered liability. If that doesn't work, do the hull inspection and proceed from there. Georgia is very forgiving and accommodating in cases of no registration card. May take some time, but sure to work out.
