2005 Kawasaki STX 12F Will Not Start!
Still kind of a Newbie here: I have a little experience with 2-strokes, but I'm helping my 13 year old nephew with his 2005 Kawasaki STX 12F 4-stroke - completely stock. This thing was running fine last December, but has not been started for the last 4-5 months during the winter. Battery is new and fully charged, gas was siphoned out of tank and replaced with new fresh fuel. It was definitely bad gas and possible had some water or something else in it. The engine will start and even rev for a few seconds if I manually prime the cylinders with gas, so I think this is a fuel delivery problem? The engine seems to run fine for a few seconds and then dies. Any ideas on what I should be looking for first? I've read through some of the other posts and it looks like I should be checking the fuel filter for clogs, a bad fuel pump or bad fuel pressure regulator. Any other ideas?
