I do it after I start and run it a bit because all that fogging oil residue is on them - but I know those who don't replace them at all and do fine.

I start it on the old plugs and let all the fogging oil burn off. Then i put in new spark plugs. For wires i bought a universal msd v8 kit at pep boys. I cut the wires to length and crimped them myself. There was a writeup on here somewhere and i think another forum member was selling premade kits.
