    Couple More Questions

#1) I'm confused about a wire that was on one of the bolts that could either be a stator bolt or a starter bolt. Looks like #19 here http://www.boats.net/parts/search/Ya...TOR/parts.html but it is not in my manual? Does it go on a stator bolt like in that photo? Where does the other end get bolted to?

#2) I'm a little confused about Premix after deleting my oil pump. The more I read the more controversy I see. SUV1200 with a 65u engine. 30:1? 40:1? 50:1? Start rich with oil and back it off the second tank?

1)It goes from the stator cover bolt to the top of the cylinders. There is a little ledge that sticks out below the head.
    2) refresh my memory, are you breaking in a new top end? If so, then yes go a little rich on oil for the first tank and avoid turning the throttle past 3/4. The next tank should be 40:1

. The ski I bought with the block exploded and no useable portions left. It was disassembled already so I was transferring everything over to the new block. The block I bought already rebuilt from a guy in Florida (new pistons etc). I did rebuild the carbs first and replaced the reed valves. Also deleted the oil pump and drilled out the carb restricters. I have a primer kit I will be installing too.

So yes its a fresh engine and you should use extra oil in the first tank of premix. Remember, extra oil means less gas. The air/fuel ratio will be a little leaner so avoid going over 3/4 throttle until the second tank.

I looked on the old block and there was a spot to attach the wire but not on the new block. I check continuity from tha stator bolt to the head and a few other spots and it seems to have good continuity so the purpose of this wire is confusing to me.Click image for larger version.

yep, I'm not sure. There must have been some concern about the stator cover not have a good ground through the bolts or I don't really know.

That wire connects to the stator cover on one end and to the carb plate where it bolts to the head on the other end if i am remembering wright.

Oh I think I know what you mean. the plate that has the vents through it as well. I hadn't installed that yet since I wanted a little wiggle room to hook everything up in the engine compartment. Looks like this? Click image for larger version.

Yep, I think that correct too. I don't have that plate on mine anymore, I threw it away when I swapped to FAs.
