    Water level updates?

Anyone local to the Mudbug area have any updates on the water levels and status of no wake zones?

Just got back from the Belle a few hours ago: Levels are still up, and although I saw plenty boaters moving fast, I'm pretty sure the NWZ is still in effect. I'll check Assumption/St. Martin/St. Mary OEP tomorrow as well as NOAA and try to get a feel for the near future.

Again, lots of boats out and no fish-cops today (in my bend of the river), but I saw a lot of citations being issued on Saturday.

I use the website above to watch the water levels. This one is updated every 15 minutes. I believe the corps also has a site that gives water levels, but I like the NOAA site.

So does this mean NWZ around camps/houses or what is meant by "everywhere"?

Big drop predicted for the upper Atchafalaya by June 1, but a minor drop at MC for the same date.

The Big Muddy is also predicted to make a daily drop over the next two weeks:

Wade, "everywhere" as used by the local governments, generally means anywhere you can see a man-made structure in the water or on the water's edge. Of course, not where a body of water gets really wide and you can see a camp from half a mile away. For example, leaving my camp this weekend was either a NWZ of 2 miles to go north to the 'Monkey or 1.5 miles south to where the Belle gets wide. Or, for me to go to Gros', from my camp. I would have traveled 8.6 miles, with 3 of those miles at no-wake speed. Obviously I didn't go to Gros' this weekend...

I have about 4 skis interested in making the trip this year. How big of a hit is the NWZ? Are there places around the area to ride at speed, small bayou type deals?
