I live in NJ and just uncovered 2007 Yamaha FX for season and there was 4" of water in the hull, aftermath of hurricane Sandy. I pumped out the water and first thing I did was to check oil. The crankcase was basically empty. I had put a new filter and changed the oil in the fall prior to hurricane. Need advice as to what to do now.. Hoping the block isn't cracked. Need to know next steps. I don't want to blow engine if it isn't already destroyed.

The 07 MR1 engine needs to be checked after some run time... Believe 30 seconds. Refer to owners manual on the proper way to check the oil. Oil drains over time. As long as none on the hull, should be good. Try cranking it to see if the oil warning goes off.
