    Will this carb fit

    I have a 2000 slx 1200. The carb is junk I found a 2000 slx 1200 genesis carb on eBay. Will it work? Thanks for any help

    Yes it will work, but the jetting will be different.

    Is the jetting close or should I change it? Sorry I don't know much about jetting.

    You'll want to use the jetting from your SLX, IIRC the jetting on the genesis is slightly richer than any other 1200 due to it's size.

    EDIT: I'd also plan on doing a full rebuild on anything you buy off ebay before throwing it on a ski. It may have "ran great" but until you go through them you don't know what you're getting into and it doesn't take long to do a lean burn down and then you'll be replacing cylinders, pistons, etc...

    Out of curiosity, what is wrong with your carbs? Can you just rebuild them?

    I bought the ski this winter an it had sat for 3 years. It need to be rebuilt. I took it out an started take it apart but almost half the screw bolt head broke due to carosion. So just thought it be easier to get one in better shape

    the size of the opening around the booster (barrel in carb center),its the smallest part in the air flow path and a restriction.will determine the amount of cfm passing thru.
