pics of me and my new raider
ran 60.5gps on totally stock ski then 62.0gps with protec shorty only-mind you this is on perfect mirror glass conditions but im still baffled as to how the physics are working that i can attain these #'s with my weight-we need to do more research on angles once i get pics on water-also im going to document each mod as i go along-as you see the shorty gives you 1.5mph over stock and next i will do 50mm nozzle vs. stock then 2 center bars cut then no grate at all, etc. etc. until we get it dialed in-i do know the stock sponsons grab real bad so they are history also the stock ride plate was squirrely and loose-will update as i mod mark

Your a big guy, big raider is a good screenname. That is a clean Raider, especially for a 95. If you had your weight towards the back of the seat, your weight may not have hurt your speed too much. When my ski was stock I pulled on another GP1200 with my buddy on the back. He was actually crouched down on the rear platform, holding onto the rear grab bar and I was scooted as far back on the seat as possible. This worked good for top speed, but as soon as I left off the throttle and the bow touched back down, off we went tumbling at 60mph.

think of what BIG RAIDERS weight does .. changes the angle of the plate in the water and the intake's ability to pick up clear water .We just have to get a pump to stay loaded at that angle consistantly!!

See..no one believed me when I told them..its something to do with the angle, granted our skis really pickup in the flat water but also physics tells us that weight is supposed to be a killer of top speed all things being equall, i know my son only weighs 98 pounds, and i weigh 225 ,when he rides he gets more rpm and speed every time, but it is backwards when Big mark rides, hell i want him to run my ski at bug if it picks up more speed ..........

at your sons weight the ski may actually be lifting thru aerodynamics to the right angle.. your just not quite at one of the extream's. Bigraider may run even faster on yours.....Hell, get an inner tube, fill it with water, set it around your waist. if you fall off you'll still float.. unless its salt water in the tube and its fresh your riding in.. lol

Hey I have always wondered why my "skinny friends" are slower than me (im 270-280) My friend that weighs about 100lbs less is slower on my ski (and his)?? accels faster with him but im always .5 or so mph faster than him!
