What does the grate look like on yours now? A singfle bar with the scoop winging off the center? (R&D Style) If from a holeshot on smooth water your not biting, I'd be looking at the prop and wear ring. The grate does not really affect you on holeshot. If your lanching too nose up then your trim is to high. Bryan can give advise on his set-up.

    Jet pump ventilation or cavitation.

Ventilation: Check for incomplete sealing of the jet pump to the hull, especially around the pump tunnel and the ride plate.

Cavitation: Check for damage to impeller, stator vanes, etc.

Intake grate has only a small effect on such things.

Look at pump wedge angle, ride plate angle and type, electric trim angle, sponsons.

I know on mine, I have to trim it about half way down to get a good hole shot without it just wanting to jump out of the water. If you are running triples, you may not have to trim it down quite as much because of the extra weight up front.

i had to go with a 3 wedge to get mine to leave, and with a rad flywheel,8 vane, skat 17/22,42mm keihins it would yank to hell out of your arms.i did away with trim because their simple wasn't time to look at it between bouys and the longer hurricane steering nozzle won't work with it

For me personally, I couldn't be without trim on a Pro 1200. A drop nozzle setup would be almost ideal.

i might put the three scoop intake grate on it that might help some of the problem. my other problem is that it lays on the rev limmiter whenever i go to launch. is their anything i can do about that?
