i was on the sight and i saw that they were made for the ultra 250 pump......have any of you ever used such a thing and is it worth the effort to get a set ......as i see it the pump stays put so it might not cavitate.......but i've also heard that some people are seeing some sort of cavitation??????.....

Yep, they are absolutly essential on the gpr platforms. I wonder if this is because both the Kawi and Yami have their tails so deep in the water.

I don't think you'll see a thing from this. The Kawi has no cavitation problem.

Doesn't the shoe kit just fill the void? If so, wouldn't a $5 can of spray foam do the same? Just take every thing off (ride plate) like you would the shoe kit, put a nice layer of wax down, then put the ride plate in and leave a crack to spray the foam, and let the over flow or expansion come out the crack, dry, razor off the excess and done.

The wax would keep the foam from sticking to the hull and ride plate, but I don't think you'd ever have to take it out any how.

    Foam $5
    Shoe kit $69

    Savings $64

Once upon a time I could afford every mod known to man for my skis, but with the housing market taking a dump, I must be inovative. You are one of the lucky ones skip.

What did the ride plate end up looking like?

Im not lucky. Ive been saving my money. Remeber I sold my 15F SC boat. Kept the money in a seperate money market.

My work has also slowed. Just dont have kids unless you count 3 dogs as kids.

Ride plate looks good. Working on the pics and measurements...
