Gas additives - Stabil / Startron - how often to use ?!
Which is the best, most cost effective, to use of these fuel stabilizer products or other brands?
For winter storage only ?
Or is it something to use regularly ?
I have no access with out driving MANY miles to get non ethanol gas!
Also, I store my ski's in my basement garage which has heat and cooling - if it matters.
I notice condensation after bringing them back in. I always pull all the buckets / seats and this seams to help.

I have used STABIL in our boat gas tank; because it tends to sit for months.
It is a good product in my experience.
Never used it in the skis because we use them weekly and constantly pump in fresh gas.

If you store your ski for more thann 2-3 months. Use it. No need on regular bases.

If you store the skis inside, its always a good idea to leave the seats and buckets off them to help the inside dry out. I always keep mine open to the air when they are in my garage. If I do put the seat on, I just leave it slid back a few inches as to not seal up the engine compartment.

I use startron on every tank. It's not only to stabilize the gas, but mainly for the ethanol that's bad for carb internals. It's only an ounce or two per tank, so it can't hurt

Use the blue marine StaBil in all my skis all the time. Got to neutralize that ethanol.
Usually wait for Advance Auto to send me coupon codes and buy it there.

So it's prob best to use every tank is what I gather from the replies ?
Sometimes it may be 2 weeks or so between rides, should I especially fill them up ( WITH Startron / Stabil ) if its that long betweeen?
What if I am adding it, would waiting to fill them up the next time out be ok as well ?
Thanks for the replies too!

You don't need to stablize fuel that sits for 2 weeks, but an ethanol treatment isn't a bad idea. So Startron or the blue Marine Stabil (more of an ethanol treatment than a stabilzer) are the choices. For extended storage (several months), use the classic red Stabil.
I personally don't use anything. I use ethanol free gas and empty my tank for winter storage. I put a little 2 stroke oil in the gas to keep the carb internals happy for winter storage. When I pulled the carbs apart this spring, I could tell the oil in the gas helped keep the carb internals lubed, clean, and corrosion free. I've heard ethanol free premix doesn't degrade as fast as regular gas and that seems to be the true in my case.

Thanks for the reply Cutlass.... As you may have read a while back I lost 2 gp1200s with in 2 weeks of each other so I am doing all I can to make sure nothing like that ever happens again! I do premix, but unfortunately cant get Ethanol free. Guess it may be time to look into the treatment then!
AS far as emptying the tanks, whats the best way to do this ( to ensure to get it all or pretty much all, out of it ) ?

I am on the same page as cutlass except i use ethanol gas premixed with some 110 in the tank and let them sit all winter and have had no issues.
