    range of FZS & FXSHO

Looking at specs of the FZR & SHO the FZR has a range of 85 miles ish and the FXSHO has a range is 120 miles but they both have the same engine and same size fuel tank, can anyone confirm the range of the FZR

I don't see why the range would be that much different. My longest trip on my FZR was 84 miles and the fuel buzzer went on as I was pulling into the harbor.

I do not think an FX SHO, at least the new ones, can go 120 miles on a tank under any circumstances. JB

I went 89 miles on my 2009 FX SHO last weekend cruising between 35-40 mph the entire way and the fuel buzzer had been going off for 10 minutes when I finally docked. No way is 120 miles possible even if you were putting around at 20 mph.

I have both, and the range on the FZR is slightly longer than on the FX SHO. I've hit the buzzer on my FZR at about 50 miles before when racing, and gone well over 80 miles cruising before hitting the buzzer. I've hit the buzzer just as I was pulling in before, and it only took 10 gallont to fill, so there's still quite a bit of fuel left when you hit the buzzer.

I have on multiple times went 106 -110 miles on a certain loop ride we do . We run by rpm/boost and have found the best fuel economy to be at -2 vac, which on my craft = to 5100 rpm or about 38 mph. Now granted this is on the buzzer for the last several miles and takes 18 gallons to fill it back up.
Going to slow below plane will also cause more fuel to be used

No, running regular rpm curve. Also I do have an R&D fuel tuner and have leaned out cruising rpm to 12.4/1

Had a big prop on my new FX SHO in the winter. Did a long ride where air temp was between 37-42 degrees. Rode 92 miles without hitting the buzzer. Filled up and only got 14 gallons in the tank. That would have put me right at 120 miles on the tank.

We have an FZS & FXSHO in our group......never seen them get anywhere near 120 miles on a tank.........I have not even got that range with my 2012 HO........around 108 miles is average...& that is with the tank absolutley brimmed.
