    rode with a plug out

so today I went riding and everything went fine, but when I was tightening my straps in the back afterwards I noticed one of my plugs the was out. Checked inside hull and there was a little more water than usual but not too much. I know it was stupid of me not to check but I don't remember taking it out last time and I don't feel like I would take out just one.. Anyone else have this issue? thinking about just putting some loctite on

Fresh water? Salt water? If fresh water, no issue. If salt water, rise out the engine bay and then use fluid film (or equlivant) on the engine.

Don't use loctite, just make sure they are right before each ride. I've never had an issue with this on 3 skis with a combined 300+ hours.

fresh water, I guess I would have noticed if it got high enough to damage anything?

Even when I get water in the hull it's never enough to drain thru those plugs. Mine stay in all the time now after I caught them out at the ramp one day.

yep I've noticed that too which is why I haven't bothered with them for a while

Dont be too worried. I did once on a river ride. Rode for about 2hrs, stopped for lunch all with them out. Came back and noticed the ski was sitting rather low at the back then it clicked! I reached under and put them back in. I just made sure I idled for about 20mins to allow the bilge pump to pump most of the water out. I learned that lesson and wont do it again

Dont loctite it shut, just be vigilant at the ramp and double check everything before launching.

I would also be careful with the versa plugs.....all it takes is a small piece of debris to keep them from closing....great for race applications, not so much for a rec rider....JMHO....
