Supercharger Damage Exceeds $6000 in Damage *PICS*
I have a horribly long and awful story, that I would like to share with the Green Hulk community about buying from a private seller...
To sum it up I paid $7400 for an 04 RXP Sea-Doo with 56 hours with trailer and everything loaded. Turned out it had well over $6000 worth of damage to the engine due to the S/C failure.. There’s a sucker born everyday.. Unfortunately it was my day.. I am in the middle of legal action against the seller.
I was going to give SeaDoo a call but... Looks like they would be no help.. even if I begged
So please don't do what I did! Oh how I do wish I had an extended warranty!

I feel for you!!
The previous owner may not have even known it had a problem. When these things fail, they don't show up until the damage is done. Unless he sold it to you with a warranty...
SeaDoo knows they have a massive clutch issue, yet live in denial.

Damn that sux! Looks like a bearing failure caused it all.
I think it looks like it can be fixed for way less than 6k though

Sorry to see that. I helped a forum member with a similar issue after buying a used ski. Unless you do an extensive remove & review before buying, it is a crap shoot buying a used SC ski.

» Crank case is broken
» Magneto cover is broken
» Supercharger is a total loss
» Both oil pumps are shot
» Was told the ski was in excellent running condition.
» Authorized Sea-Doo service bulletin in 2004 was not taken care of for knock sensor. As brought to my knowledge when you plug in the rxp to the computer it updates this automatically... Which means he never had it serviced at a authorized seadoo business?...
» Average speed on machines computer is ~34mph.
» Sold me Jet Ski and had no paper work in his name. All he gave me was a signed agreement that he took my money and he would use it plus $2000 dollars to pay off the lien then later send me title in the mail. (took about 2 months). At time of purchase I didn’t know any better, and went along with it because he said he needed my money in order to get rid of the lien.
» After looking back on the eBay auction he changed the description to “damaged do not buy” a day before I took delivery and gave him payment.
» Changed his cell phone after I took delivery of the Sea-Doo
» Don’t know if he performed maintenance at all on the machine, could request receipts from previous maintenance and service. If he doesn’t he obviously never performed the maintenance on the machine because there’s a service update that was never performed on it because it was never taken back to the dealer this update is free.
» Has been ignoring my calls... I have left him 4 messages. No call backs nothing.
» He admits damage in eBay listing.
» Title is still in his name. I did not sign it over and transfer it because the Jet Ski had problems.
» It was the first time buying anything from a private party and frankly I was taken advantage of. There was obvious major internal damage prior to selling it to me.
» Crank case is cracked which shows prolonged riding with internal damage. I had it for about 2 1/2 hours if that.
