2000 GTX Millenium Edition Questions from new ski owner

    Hello everyone,

I am new to the forums and I have very little knowledge when it comes to engines. I know where the gas and oil goes and that is about it . I hope that by joining this forum and lot's of reading I will gain the knowledge I need to perform basic to intermediate maintenance tasks on my ski.

So I purchased this ski used with 149 hours on it and it is in really good shape for the age. You can immediately tell it was garage kept and babied. The guy told me that he just replaced the fuel lines and cleaned the Rave Valve before it was winterized. When I test drove it, it seemed to run fine but the idle was a little low around 950-1000 RPM's so he adjusted the carb? and got it purring around 1200 RPM's. My first day on the lake yesterday after I purchased it, it ran fine. However I noticed 3 problems:

-There is no buzzer sound, whenever you put the key in or low fuel or anything
-After I rode it an hour a MAINT flashed up on the screen when I cranked it (figured it could be 150.0 hours and the light appeared)
-When I full throttle it hiccups a tiny little bit and then gets on it. It's hard to explain but if you baby it to around 5-10 mph and punch it, it does not do that.

If someone could help me out or tell me what I can do about those 3 issues I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

Did he rebuilt the carbs ? A ski that age will need the carbs rebuilt with new needles and seats which does not come with a the kit. Be sure to do a popoff pressure test also.

need to have the carbs rebuilt. clean fuel tank vents as well as the selector valve and make sure he replaced all of those grey gas lines on all of those also. you can see them from under the hood with the storage tray out. clean the filter/water separator also.
