    1997 Polaris SLTX 1050 Sluggish?

I recently took my ski out for the first time this winter and had no problems getting it started. After running for about 30-45 minutes I noticed the low end and top speed was down. It normally runs around 53mph and was down to 42 mph. When I returned back to the lake I changed the spark plugs and checked the water seperator. The ski starts right up every time and idles fine. I have almost run out the old gas but I'm not sure what to check next??? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Does this ski have updated ignition kit? Your ski may be showing sign of stator failing.

Not that I know of. I bought it last year and this is the first problem I have had with it. What are some other symptoms of the stator falling?

Cutting out, won't start when hot or fail completely. If you don't already have ignition update you will need to get it ... eventually. But first check your compression, clean fuel delivery system (tank, fuel lines, fuel pumps and carbs) to get them out of the equation.
More info on your engine and ignition can be found at this link:

I believe the part number for the stator kit is 2873091. Where would I be able to find the stator update kit and how much? Approximately how long does it take to change everything out?

Changing cdI is easy. Stator...well you need to remove fly wheel.

Only known test for CDI is swapping it out with a working one. Stator test is below:
