    2002 GTX steering frozen

I took the cover off my 2002 GTX this weekend only to find the steering is frozen in place.
Does anyone have a DIY to replace the cable? Or is it salvageable?

Any and all input is appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!

replace the cable, it's never going to be right. You'll want to unbolt the end at the jet pump and give it one more try, in the event the problem is the steering nozzle itself.

Also get in the habit of greasing the end at the jet pump..heck even wd-40+ white spray grease will keep water from working in there.

The cable outer sheath is made up of a cable wrap ( like a suspension bridge) once that starts to rust..it's all over.

Get a proper tool to loosen up the thru hull nut.

Take pictures of the cable routing for assembly reference

it's easy to damage a new cable on install..take your time and take it easy. Think before you do.
