Good ol' Craigslist ad... ( I'm looking to purchase a nice used or new jet ski)

Hi, I'm new to this forum but have been riding jet skis for a long time and love the lake life. Looking to buy a new or used one now and found this on craigslist.

    Here is the ad:
    "2008 Yamaha sho 261hp - $7500 (Charlotte)

This is a 2008 Yamaha sho 261 hp very fast low hours got some minor scratches due to dock but must see. If you have any question feel free to call 704-919-7329 Joey "

    http://charlotte.craigslist.org/boa/3819198662.html

I called the guy and talked to him. He said it was stock and went 120mph from the factory. Also said it came stock with 261hp.

I would love to have one of these jet skis but obviously something is wrong here...

    What do yall think?

It's usually best not buy a machine from a total imbecile.

haha yea I was wondering this as well. Still doesn't explain the 260+ stock horsepower though...

I do not think the guy selling the ski .... is the owner. Because how can you be that mis-informed about something so exspensive as to sound so absurd!

This thought also crossed my mind so when I talked to him I asked and he did say he was the second owner. Bought it with under 30 hours or something. I'm really torn because the price it attractive, everything else is such a turn off though...

The guy is nuts, clearly doesn't know what he's talking about. I personally hate Craigslist post without a picture also. Best thing you can do is go check it out with someone that knows their stuff.

I went ahead and told him that ,although the price was attractive especially since he said he'd take 7000, I just wasn't comfortable with buying from someone who knew so little about the jet ski.

Maybe he mixed it up with km/h or saw a video on YouTube... After which he knew all there is to know about skis...
