    2000 GTI

Last year as the season wore down and so did I the 2000 GTI stopped working. I knew it had some kind of oil leak and it got alot worse. The bottom of it is filled with oil. Weird thing is there is still 3/4 of oil in the tank. I don't see any oil from up top (from the filling point) but it does look like there is oil in the tank from inside. I also noticed the grey fuel lines so those are going tomorrow with filters, carb filters, etc. etc. You all taught me that on my 94 and 96. (I thank you everytime they start up!!!)

So there is no OBVIOUS signs of a loose or split hose. Where could the oil come from? Is there anything that could push it out an overflow???? I won't start it until I get the grey stuff done but any ideas???? I mean ALOT of oil.....

    Thanks in advance.

The large oil lines at the rotary valve are held on with clamps that can cut the lines. Follow the large lines from the oil tank and feel around where they enter the engine to see if that is it
