thinking about buying a 2nd ski, what would be your first pick?

After my 2002 virage was down, over memorial day weekend, thinking of buying a 2nd ski, either new or used low hours, what would be your first choice?

New with warranty comes with a price tag. New means 4-stroke engine, there are no 2-strokes left other than stand up models.

If you are comfortable with or even enjoy working on your watercraft, then you have lots of options.

What about a second Virage with the same engine as what you have now? That way if you broke down you could swap parts for troubleshooting. Plus, it's nice to have a matched pair of skis.

If you really enjoy the "challenges" of Polaris ownership, but want to go to the next level of unavailable parts, lack of dealer support, and overpriced replacement parts, go with Tiger Shark.

Totally different degree of forum enthusiasm for Polaris.

In all fairness, the OP did state "what would be your first choice?"

I took that to mean 'What would be your recommendation for elk river rascal?'

Personally, I like the '00 and '01 SLX, and the '01's black is exceptionally cool. Stripped down basic go fast machines. I almost picked up the SLX that
T-Bone14 was selling so I would have one of each, but my AC crapped out.

I was at a SeaDoo dealership last weekend picking up a new winch strap for the trailer. I honestly can not see myself on one of those things, they are huge.
