How would you go about reapiring this hull

Hey guys, im about to buy a 03 gpr1300r. its got some hull damage up front from the owners kids bumping the dock. it doesnt leak but its real close.

Should i just glass it, sand it, and paint that area? it doesnt have to be perfect but i would like to have it not be noticeable.

That looks like a good lick to me. If its been in the water lately you will need to let the moisture dry out before you repair. I've had trouble with the repair not holding if the glass is holding moisture.

any idea what this would cost professionally? too bad, the ski runs absolutely perfect too. just not well taken care of. might have to try and find a hull and swap it all over. but then comes the big question of swapping the 1300 into the hull, or rxp engine. one option is nearly free, the other i would have to refinance my house or sell my wife

I would say you are looking at least $500. In my opinion.

Pictures of wife?? Lol just kidding

I would think you could repair that if you take your time and research proper resin ect to use. But the ski would have to be a killer deal for me to even think about it.

Is the dock made of reinforced concrete?

I'm sure that leaks like crazy but it's leaking into the void/foam of the inner hull and you dont see it. It looks like there is a crack further down the hull that has half patched with a swipe of putty. Can you snap a pic of that?

It looks like the lower bow-eye mount is compromised. This would be a game changer as you have to cut the inner hull and bore through 9" of foam to get to the back side nuts.

I would offer $1200 for the package...and go as high as $1500 (assuming he has clear title to all 3)

With that kind of damage...It shows lack of care, who knows what else is wrong or hidden. I would pass...there's a lot better out there.
