    Newby Question About Which Ski???

I apologize now for the "What Ski" question....

With both my wife & I being new at this jet ski thing I'm asking for your help in deciding on which skis to get for the both of us.

We'll be riding in lake environments with not to much chop and for the most will be just cruising around...mix in a little play too. In my opinion this is the deciding factor...I'm over 300lbs and the wife is ???lbs....not going there guys & gals. She's just the perfect weight at less than 150lbs and more than 100lbs.

I think that after I get used to the ski I would probably play a little more as time goes on but I don't know.

I read that the SC models use so much more gas and need more maintenance that I'm not sure if I should consider them or not...but I also read that there is nothing like the acceleration of a SC ski to go out and ride. I do like power and I'm thinking that it is going to take one of those models to haul my BIG BUTT around...not to mention try to keep up with the wife.

    Thank you

    Cya

The SC models are generally not as gas efficient and will be slightly more costly to maintain. However, the maintenance debate alone is not a reason to sway you from one model to the next because the difference isn't that drastic in my opinion.

Honestly if I lived east of the mountains and wanted a turn key ski (not going to modify) the VXR or S would be my choice I think.

What lake will you ride on the most?

Thank you for the offer...that's extremely nice of you. Right now with my work schedule I'm not sure I can get away.

Liberty Lake...It's only 10min from the house. I live in Spokane Valley.

I know liberty lake area, I go over there for work a few times a year. I would really recommend looking at a VXR unless you want to mod a ski. Or unless you want a super plush ride that you would get out of a bigger ski.

I'm pretty much over modding things. I guess I just kinda ruled out other brands after watching videos and reading about the braking feature of the Seadoo's and the convenience of having reverse right on the handlebars. I don't like the idea of having to take your hand off the throttle then reach down and pull a lever to either put yourself in neutral or reverse then back up to the throttle.
