Should I Run 30:1 Or 40:1 Premix Ratio In My 98'Yamaha XL1200
So I ran into the owner of azjetski.com at canyon lake yesterday morning. So where just talking about my yami XL1200 and he mentioned that i should be running 30:1 premix in it........I told him Ive been runnin 40:1 since ive rebuilt the topend and rebuilt the carbs and its running really good with that ratio........so is he right?from what Ive read on here and other info online it seems to be a good premix ratio to run 40:1 for my XL1200........

With the high quality of most oils today, 40:1 is more then enough. 50:1 might even be possible, but I'd stick with 40:1.
30:1 is crazy talk.

50-1 is fine for that ski. You only need to bump up if highly modified.

40:1 is premium and will protect you for years to come.
