    GSX bogging 3000 rpm max 10mph... advice?

    Looking for advice this is my old ski, ran great past few times, was flipped 5 mins into ride, then rode hard for over an hour, then 3000 rpm max, bogs 10mph thats it?? Just wont rev past 3000 rpm, smokes and thats it??

    Its got flys flame aresters, everything else was in perfect working condition. Very low hours and ran stong last year.

    So can someone add to this list to check, need to check the following;
    -plugs, lean/rish
    -all lines are attached
    -fuel selector is in the correct spot
    -weeds in pump
    -?
    -?

    Look fine on the richer side

    Started it just now was expecting the same issues, was able to hit 4700 rpm and 35mph, took it back to the dock, back to 10mph took the seat cover off lots of smoke.

    wondering if it could be an exhaust issue? I did a search others have experienced similar issues but no answers posted

    Found a loose clamp on the exhaust coupler

    I can't tell what year GSX. But if it's a 96 then it sounds like the rectifier/regulator going bad.

    That would definately do it. Also feel around the piece of hose right after the pipe. If it has a hole or is very soft it needs replaced. They won't run while sucking in exhaust fumes.
