    01 Virage TX MFI troubles

Everything seems to work right on the MFI on my 01 Virage but it quit cranking today. I can jump the purple and black wires and it will crank. Is it possible to just butt connector those two wires togather then plug the MFI back up and have normal operation with everything else temp etc?

You can bypass the MFI security circuit. Going from memory, you should be able to move a Black/White wire to ground, which will allow the engine to crank without going through the MFI.

Just found this so now I see on post #26 that black is the ground for the cluster. So the purple/white is the ground that completes the circuit for the start stop button correct? Then I should be able to ground purple/white completely and plug my cluster up and all of it work? Am I forgetting something or over looking something? http://www.greenhulk.net/forums/show...age+MFI+wiring

Grounding the Purple/White wire that comes from the LR module should do what you want.

Thanks for the input. Do you see any issues that could come up from this or is that all its doing anyways?

    Should be fine.

Mind you, your MFI now has a single failure internally. It is possible that MFI is starting to die and other things will go wrong.
