Restaurant on the lake with a dock that'll mess up your ride . . . .

So you are riding with your squeeze, cruising a new lake, and you discover a nice place to eat with a dock designed for boats only. The bumpers and protective trim is entirely too high. There is no sandy beach or place to "beach" the PWC.

(I attached and dropped anchor off my nose, attached a rope to the stern, and threw the rope to someone on the dock. With their help, he pulled the stern to the dock, where we were able to depart and tie-it off. She did not get wet, I did get wet on the first step of this process, resulting in being a little damp while eating lunch)

What do you do in this type of situation ???

    After I thought about this a little . . . .

    1. Drop the gal on the dock.
    2. Have the gal attach the anchor rope to the nose. Use a bungee type rope on the anchor.
    3. Have another (bungee) rope attached to the stern. Have your lady hold onto it while . . . .
    4. Drive the PWC a few feet away from the dock and throw the bow anchor out into the water.
    5. Have your lady pull you in, depart, and fasten the stern rope to the dock.

Enjoy lunch with dry shorts !!

(the key to this working is having a gal that knows how to handle your rope

Bring your own bumpers / fenders and tie up at the dock?

    This!

I carry two of these for this very situation (they're the best PWC fenders I've found)

How do u hang them from the ski?

  12. #9
They have a plastic clip that goes under the edge of the ski and have a hook on the top attached with adjustable nylon webbing that hooks on the ski and is pulled tight. They are tight on the ski so they help protect it as it moves around when it's tied up.

I've used them on overnight trips to tie up to docks and they work pretty well.
