Manifold O2 sensor install question (s)

I was looking at Jerrys sticky on drilling the manifold vs the J-Pipe and was curious here, is there any advantage other than it being a easier quicker job? I also would like to know that if you removed the J-Pipe could one drill and tap it in place using a shop vac to suck up the shavings? Sorta like the dentist does? Thanks,Mike

jpipe you use a bung welded in lifespan dimenished and if you ever upgrade to midpipe start over. Best option get a 08 up manifold drill and tap it

Easier to hit the water jacket. 08 and newer have a thicker wall. Less chance of hitting it. Did my 07 and got lucky. No problems yet. I own a machine shop so, I had the tool to machine/drill/tap straight.Click image for larger version.
