    01 slx 1200

    Having problems getting spark, it ran great last summer and nothing this year. Stator was replaced and Cdi last summer, it ran when we winterized it last fall. Was wondering how to check to see if it is the kill switch or can it be unhooked to see if that is my problem

    Check the battery voltage while cranking.

    Must be OVER 10.6 volts or you will not have spark.

    Battery is fully charged and new, I'm getting over 10.6 while cranking

    I would start methodically ohms check the electrical system. It could be as simple as bad spark plug boot, which just happened to me recently. Of course I would've never found it if I didn't ohms check my electrical system.

    I will start checking all that stuff once I get the motor back in, I'm putting another new stator in it, everything was replaced last year and it was running just fine then nothing when I try Starting it, replaced Cdi stator and volt reg. I'm beginning to think its the kill switch

    Easy enough to disconnect the CDI kill wire in the electrical box for a test.

    Just know how you are going to stop the engine with that wire disconnected
