    Hole in cylinder outside wall

    Just curious why there is a hole in the cylinder case (outside bottom)
    have some cylinders with and without.... Also new ones..

    its on the left at the exhaust port side

    There was probably a flaw (casting crack) when the cylinder was made and they put a depth hole to see how far the flaw was. if it was deeper they would reject it. some times when you pour molting aluminum in a mold you get pits and cracks so you drill a hole at a measured depth to check it.

    10-4 did not see that one this morning the casting flaw check sounds like the correct answer.
