    Is this Drive Shaft correct?

Hey, I have a 1996 Seadoo Gtx, I recently removed the motor and jet pump. I have everything back together and on the drive shaft I have the rubber boot going over the carbone ring with the clamp on. I am still able to pull the boot and carbone ring back. Is this correct? Before when I sprayed water directly into the driveshaft/boot from the outside on the bottom of the hull water would leak from the boot on the motor side. I repositioned the clamp and this stopped.

Yes, that's correct. The flat surface between the carbone and the metal collar is what keeps the water out.
