    Ultra 250x rattling and trim

I just bought a 2008 Ultra 250x and the hood latch really rattles when idling which is quite loud and annoying. Just wondering if this is something common on all the Ultra 250's and if anyone has any idea on how to fix it.

On another note, I noticed there is no trim on this machine. My old 2001 Ultra 150 had electric trim so I was surprised to see the 250x without it. Does anyone know why they made this machine without trim control?

    Thanks to all who respond.

Yes, it can be annoying but all you have to do in a pinch is shove small paper or cardboard shim to stop latch from vibrating like that. The 250 and 260 dont need variable trim. They handle the old fashioned way, with grit, spit and courage.

There should be 2 rubber round grommets up near the latch that help stable the hood as well. You won't miss adjustable trim on this machine

Thanks guys! I'll look for the two rubber grommets and will definitely look at sticking a shim in there too. My riding area has a lot of slow speed riding so I definitely need to do something about that to preserve my sanity

I, too, find this very frustrating and have shoved stuff in there along with putting a new rubber seal around the cylindrical latch area to no avail.

Good luck and let us know if you find something that works.
