    Solas 14/20

I received my new impellar for my 06 15f today. I ordered a 13/19 but got a 14/20. Should I go ahead and install this or do I return it and get what I wanted? What would be the difference?

    Thanks

What kind of mods are you going to do? The RIVA RPM kit comes with a 14/21. If you do ride plate and air filter, I think the 14/20 will be alright.

I have installed a RIVA air filter and am going to put on a R&D rideplate after the impeller is installed.... I almost had to learn that the hard way. Will the 14/20 affect my hole shot or top speed and if so in what way? Also, what pitch is the stock prop?

You can change the impeller with the ride plate still on. I did it that way on my ski. With the 14/20 prop, RIVA air filter, sealed R and D ride plate and ride plate bolt holes. I would predict that bottom end will be about this same and will gain 4-6 MPH on top. If you do RIVA exhaust mod and keep 14/20 prop, you will have a stronger bottom end pull for sure and top end a little better. If you don't want to do exhaust mod, then try a wedge. The wedge will make the prop act a little smaller. You should pick up RPM's either way.

Stock pitch unknown. Its hard to compare pitches. The blades on the stock prop look to be twice has thick as the SOLAS CD prop. The stock prop does look like a SOLAS prop though. I can tell you with the Full RIVA rpm kit, exhaust mod and plate all sealed up. I can hang with a stock 250X and I am running a 14/21 SOLAS CD that came with the kit.

Well I guess I will see come the end of March if it works well for me. I went ahead and installed the 14/20.... was rather surprised with it's simplicity. I won't be able to get on the water until the end of the month anyway, but it is pretty much ready to go. Just have to change the oil and the plugs. Thanks for all of the input. I at least know what the purpose of an impeller is now. I'm sure it won't be long before I have another question.

    Thanks again.
