SS Wear Ring
Ok as I knew or read my High Power SC is going thru wear rings about every 6 hours so Its time for me to think about a SS wear ring. Although I found a good deal on wear rings on ebay and stocked up on 4 so I am not in a hurry.
which other mod is suggested to be able to run SS ring safely.
Front Engine Mount or Triple bearing or both?
how easy is it to screw up the alighment of the engine if engine mount is the answer

Mike both the Triple bearing mod pump and mount are the safe bet, but the torq from the motor makes the engine flex from the week front mount.
If you had to just do one I would do the front mount and get rid of most of the engine flex as it is past to the driveshaft and then pump and is why we have so many wear ring issue's.
Front mount helps prevent most engine Flex that in turn goes to the driveshaft and the pump.

On the other hand i have seen no ill effects of running a SS ring without a solid front engine mount on Careys old ski. Its definately best to have that front engine mount though.

what are the adverse effects? wear on the impeller? Isn't the ring plastic for a reason, so something gives? isn't the ss ring harder on the impeller?
obviously they work, but I'm playing devils advocate a little bit here too...just want to know what to expect in the long term..
