How to tell if my GP1200R is running Pre-Mix or why this is happened
So I took my GPR out for the first time today. My bearing is seized in the pump so I didn't make it far. But oil was spit out through the exhaust. Not just a little, it covered the whole back of the ski. I know it will spit oil if it's running rich, and I was running 50:1 but it seemed to be a little much. Also the engine just got a top end kit done 10hrs ago and the ski has 112hrs.

Well it's real simple. If you mix fuel n oil together in a can your running premix! If our adding just fuel to gas tank your running Oem oil injection

I was told to pre mix it BUT I found half a tank of oil in the oil tank and with it spitting out oil I think I'm running injection.

Has anyone glued the oil filler cap shut? check to see if oil pump is still mounted on front of engine and related oil lines are running back to the carbs. check carbs to see if oil lines have been blocked off. You can also pull the oil sending unit out of the oil tank, to see if anyone has tampered or disabled it. Ask the previous owner for copies of all paperwork and/or ask them who has done mechanical work on that ski in the past. If you plan on keeping this jet ski for any length of time, I would recommend getting a shop manual. good luck. michael
