    2004 fxho-possible purchase

I am looking at a two owner FXHO cruiser with 120 hours on it fresh water only. The owner has said it is in good shape but "might need a new impellor due to cavatation when taking off but runs perfectly on plane". Is this probably just a new impellor and wear ring fix? Or could it be something else? What about the motor mount issue on the 04's? Would you guys look for a newer model?

All that said- what would be a decent price for the ski with no trailer and with the repairs needed?

He has it listed at 4400 for the ski but has already said he will take $3850 for it with the repairs it needs and no trailer. I haven't looked at it/made an offer yet. Does it sound like from what he said its just needing an impeller?

I will take it to the water for a little ride. you will be able to know if the engine is performing the way it should, and whats going on with the impeller. but still a very good price , considering its summer already.

with the repairs, meaning he will even repair it for you? If he's going to also repair it then it is a super steal!!! Even if you are going to do that it still is a good deal. The 04 FX HO Cruiser is an awesome ski. It is a little faster than both 06 and 07 that I compared it to. Maybe has something to do with hull being simple. It has the best hood access of all. Easy to reach and grab your stuff while on the water. I owned one, my friend has it now 260 hours ticking like swiss watch.

No- he won't repair anything. It would be $3850 and I would need to fix the impeller issue. I'm going to look at it this weekend and take it out and see what exactally it is doing. Well I am glad to hear the praise of thr 04 HO. I initially was worried with it being the first year for that machine.

Weren't there motor mount concerns with the 04-05 model years? Revamped in 06 if I recall correctly...

Yeah- from what I have read it was 04 and some early 05's. Is the motor mount issue sporadic enough to take the gamble that this 04 might not suffer from it? Or were all the mounts bad? The ski will mainly be ridden on a large lake with pretty large cruiser wakes which can make for some hard landings.
