    The catalytic converter:

    1. Completes the burn of uncombusted fuel and oil from the engine. Your exhaust runs cleaner.

    2. Helps to provide backpressure and heat so that your engine can run more efficiently.

Without the cat con you may have a bit more bottom torque but not the top end you used to have. Replace it with a "D" plate to provide back pressure. Dump some of the water that comes from the head and goes into the exhaust pipe jacket over board to help reheat the pipe so that the pipe can run as designed (less cooling water to the pipe results in a hotter pipe). In other words with these two mods you should get your top end back.

Send a message to WFO. He will fix you up with what ever you need. This mod is not expensive.

Do not be afraid of used components. The "D" plate is just a piece of stainless steel with a specific size hole cut in it.
