Is there a way to get this sand out of my OPAS?

A few weeks ago it was really rough and I got some sand in the OPAS while I was anchored by the beach. I thought it might be in the accordian boot, but it is in the actual shaft where the paddle connects. Is there a way to get it out of the carrier and clean it? It is really restricting the steering and driving me nuts.

I'd like to get back on the water Sunday. Guess I will be blasting it with water.

Never mind... Got it. Just have to take the cap off of the bottom.
