Who Has Been Modding The '12-'13 FX SHO

Wondering what results people are getting. There is nothing in the 'Speed Database' and still haven't seen any solid, ride plate or grate data.

I have done ribbon delete, TJ exhaust mod and opened up the stock air box. Machine is running well, but had GPS problems the last time out. The speedometer showed 78 mph at 6 hrs. on the machine, which should put me around 70 GPS, judging from other runs when GPS worked. Not too bad for $40 and a few hours time.

yes i have modded a few 12-13 SHO'S already with a modded stock plate there is an average of 2.2 to 2.5 mph. gains and adding Leo's wedge is a 1 mph. plus gain and it gets rid of the noise heavy feeling you have with a stock ski and it handles great.

Sounds good, Jim. Are you still developing new plates? What speeds have you seen with high boost motors?

with the SHO'S no need to develop new style plate the stock plates modded work great.

Is Nash' still on the stock wheel with a reflash? Maybe he will chime in.

Someone has to be in the 80's?

We have two '12 FX SHO's, one with the R&D Stage 1 and that ran 77.2 at 8700 with a 13/21 and 75 flat at 8450 with a 13/23. We also have one with the R&D stage 2 and that runs 80 flat at 8550 with a 15/22 in it and it ran 78.2 with a 15/24 at 83-8350. All props used were R&D Pro Pitch. I will be tweaking them a little here and a little there but that is about what they will run.

Can you give a parts list on the 80mph FX-SHO? Thanks JP

    Parts List:

    -R&D Cold Air Intake
    -R&D C3-11 Wheel
    -R&D Hardened SC Shaft
    -Tial 50mm BOV
    -R&D Pro Series IC
    -R&D Power Core
    -R&D R3 Reflash
    -Riva TH Exhaust
-R&D Aquavein Intake Grate with Pump Seal Kit
    -R&D Engine/Oil Cooler Cooling Kit
    -R&D 92mm Steering Nozzle
    -R&D 15/22 Pro Pitch (stock 87mm venturi)
    -R&D Anti-cav cone
-Air mods in hood/side panels and 4 Florites in side of hull near stock 4" intakes

That's about it brother. I did a few other things for creature comforts like adding a jettrim seat cover, flush mounted a Garmin 640 GPS, Gauge Pod with AFR and Boost/Vac Guages, Tiny Tach and a TBM Fuel Cell in the rear for added fuel capacity.

I also made a tweak to the prop after adding a couple more Florites yesterday and I didn't get a chance to really test it but it is now a 16/23 and it went 79.1 at 8350 last night with a full tank and TBM tank filled. What I figured out with my original setup with modded side panals and 2 florites was it would starve for air after a longer pull. If I idled for a bit and hit it, it would rev to 85-8550 and stay there for a bit but after an extended pull, the rpm's would slowly taper off down to 8050-8100 and stay there. At first I thought it was heat fade but after testing it with the seat off on a 10 mile stretch of smooth water in a canal, it would hold 8450-8500 as long as I wanted it to so that's when I added some hood mods and a couple more florites and tweaked the prop to a 16/23 not only because of the added airflow but also because I wanted more pump efficiency for our long distance rides. As I mentioned, I didn't give it a full test session yet but from the little bit I did test, I like the feel of the engine with additional air mods and prop change. I reduced the cavitation quite a bit and my speed versus rpm is noticeable better for cruising and fuel efficiency. I don't have to spin the engine as high to maintain my mid to upper 60's when cruising. I run it at about a half throttle position while my buddies on their stock Ultras and RXTX's are taped to stay with me. I like it overall. It's definitely not a built for speed machine but it is certainly a nice power cruiser and handles very well in all water conditions and that's what I wanted from it.
