2000 RX w/ driveshaft carrier bearing and accordian boot??

Hey guys. Im sitting here scratching my head. Long story short I pulled the motor in my RX since I had a bad start bendix. In the process I had to remove the driveline and I noticed I had a different type of driveline seal setup. I am used to the carbon ring I have on my newer RXTX. After inspecting I am assuming this is an aftermarket setup my the previous owner. The driveshaft does have a groove for a c-clip, but there is no c-clip in place. There is also the stock accordian boot in place that is clamped to a carrier barrier with a zerk fitting. At first I thought I was missing a c-clip but after some reading it looks like carrier bearings dont use c-clips??

Can anyone shed some light on this for me? I wish I had pictures to attach, but the ski is currently at my parents house, not mine. Will this setup work? I previously never had any issues with water intrusion so it seems to have been holding water just fine.

Yes , someone changed it...mine has the carbon ring and the C clip that holds it in place. i see no harm in your set up really.

Thanks! I bolted it all back up with some new parts and hopefully we are good to go!
