    R and D Aquavein Scoop for 08 RXP-X

I'm upgrading my intake. There are two R and D aquavein grates for an 08 RXPX for sale in the Greenhulk store. It looks like on is for closed course riding, I can't visually see a difference. Has anyone installed either of these, were there any difficulties? I ride mostly in smooth to small chop fresh water. I am intersted slightly more in the closed course one simply because I am fairly light (160 lbs) and think it may keep me hooked up more than the other, any thoughts on this?

    Thanks

Havnt seen the closed course one but I'm sure it has a more aggressive scoop, keeps the pump loaded better but would shy away if I was planning to run in the upper 70s due to pump stuffing on the X. Most of us are using the R&D rec grate on our X machines which performs well.

Thanks, just ordered it. Is it pretty much just a bolt on addition, I read somewhere on here that people were needing to file down there intake grates to get them to fit properly (though I couldn't find the exact thread using the search) I'm hoping that is not the case.

Yea, real simple to adjust to fit with a small grinder. Flush at rear with ride plate by taking a bit off the top side of the grate careful not to remove too much, grind just a bit and test, repeat until flush. Nothing hard about it!

By the top you mean the side that bolts up to the ski?

Yep, and only on the rear end mounting area not the front. There is a groove at he front of that area that you will likely have to slightly deepen also to clear the pump shoe lip that sticks down.
