gpr1200 only getting to 40 mph and then losing power

I have a 2001 gpr1200 that I just bought, the ski will get to around 40 mph and then die down to around 3 mph. I have taken the exhaust apart to add a d-plate thinking that it could be a bad cat, but the ski already had a d-plate installed but the chip never was. The temp wire was still hooked to the cdi, could this be causing a miss fire or make the ski act up like this. Compression is 110, 105, 106.

Not sure that temp sensor would be causing that the chip is mainly fool cdi to keep alarm from beeping not saying it wouldn't retard timing a bit..dose it do that the entire time or when you been riding awhile? Kinda sounds like a Carb issue..mabye one of the pros would like to chime in on this.

just nuked my post b/c I saw you mentioned your compression numbers for your cylinders. not a power valve problem.

It does it with in 20 seconds or so of riding. Has all kinds of power at first and then just dies down.

The center plug is always wet when I pull it, it is acting like its missing like a fouled plug. I pulled the carbs off and checked the center carb and everything seems to be working like it should. Could it be possible to have a coil that is cutting out when it is under a load?

Also could it be the engine with those numbers? I am stumped cause it runs good at first and then just dies. I

Yeah they are on the low side but gauge could be a little off and I wouldn't think it would run fine then just fall on its face if it was compression it would be low power all the time ?? I wish some one would chime in on this lol

Not sure if the carbs have ever been rebuilt , I doubt it though. This problem is driving me nuts!
