i THINK it's the Garmin GPSMAP 76 that goes with the limited models

it's an awesome unit... does everything you want and then some!!

i have that model, but the 76 C model (COLOR Screen)

i use it on the road in the car for trips, on my ski, and on boat trips...

there is not an option that another GPS in it's class has that this model doesn't already have. All it's missing if the barometric pressure sensors and a color screen.

I have the GPSmap76S which comes with everything shibster mentioned except the color screen (I do have the barometric pressure).

I bought mine about 6 months before the color unit came out which kind of pissed me off because the price of what I bought dropped like a rock. The only thing it doesn't do is auto route. Even if I make up a route on the computer when I load it into the gps is draws straight lines between points. The other thing I don't like is the lack of memory (much more in the 76C) and the download/upload speed when hooked into the computer. If I want to load new maps I start the process then go eat dinner, sometimes when I come back it still isn't done.

    Steve,

Do you find it fast to download maps or does yours have the routes instead of just straight lines???

You could figure it out after the ride. Just download the "track" into your computer and use the time, distance, speed data to figure it out.
