The red ones have some very delicate paint. Sorry to hear about it. I still am in shock that I could scratch the paint with my fingernail.

    Go Blue!

Seems the blue paint is pretty tough, I did have a little silver paint come off though when I peeled the glove box sticker off.Think Ill put my own warning sticker on the glove box.WARNING : HOLD THE #$*@ ON!,lol

shouldn't tow any ski with the cover on... whether ur seeing it or not, it's doing damage to the paint, the gelcote, whatever you have... leaves chauffing marks, surface scratches, just not a good towing habit IMO...

some may disagree... that's probably bc they have a color ski that you can't really see it on perhaps

That's the whole idea of a Cover!

I like my covers to counter act the damage from rocks, dirt from
the roads, sun, etc. Covers were designed to be on the ski
while towing, that's why they have those conical cones in the back
to create suction to hold the cover agains the ski.

I do now think that Kawa has some problems with the red color. Doesn't
seem to have cured, or something in chemistry land.

You have a good case to get your ski repainted if you put a factory
cover on it and it rubs the paint off coming home like one forum member

The only time I won't use a cover is when I'm in the Ocean and the salt is
on it and dries before I can rinse/wash it. Then I don't want the abrasive effect of a material rubbing against salt against paint.

We should get a response from Kawa on this. BTW it seems like Kawasaki should have an official factory engineer on this board! What a great place for end user feedback and the ability to establish a true dialogue with their customers! Are you listening Kawa????

I drove 80 miles with the Red cover on today and I didn't see the problem (in garage lighting), but the paint is weak for sure.

Ouch!!! Waiting for my cover to arrive, but that is scarey!!! Just for the fun of it, there wasn't any warnings about using the cover while towing was there? Did you get the cover from the dealer? I would be heading back over to them.. Man that just sucks
