Has anyone tried using a different info gauge..?

Has anyone tried using another info gauge other than an MFD? Is this possible?

The Polaris MFI display is almost a direct connection substitution. Details covered in a thread on here somewhere, and Bryan actually installed one.

The Polaris NGI display from the MSX 140 will also work, except for the speedometer.

Well, I'm leading towards showing me the speed, fuel level, and oil level. Those are the ones I mainly care about.

Rpms are probably most important IMO

To me honestly, its one of those things not worth the effort. Stick with one if the Polaris displays. You could use the analog speedo from an early SL 750 in the MFD hole. If anything, convert over to one of the oval MFDs in the handlebar pad.

Yes RPM's too. I forgot to list that one. I suppose that would be the easiest, those prices are just crazy.

There was an early SL 750 that had a plate for 2 round gauges and a place for a third-but that would work with the SL (mounts at bottom of steering pod)

If you have enough room in your hood-I have a round analog fuel gauge-also new Polaris tach and speedo (all 2 inch gauges). You would need to extend all the wiring and hoses to mount in the hood.

The oil gauge isn't very usefull- you burn so little oil you could just look at level before riding or install a LED warning light just in case-with the on/off type senders, I think it triggers at like 1/4 tank oil.

I PMed you about the gauge. And I suppose your right about the oil.
