    Polaris pro 1200 wont start

Hi all new to the forum. I just purchased a 2001 Polaris pro 1200 that was not running. I got it home checked compression on all the pistons and was reading great. I found the battery to be dead so i replaced the battery and it started about three times.... sounds great. I went to go try it on the water and wanted to check it before i left. It would not start. I thought maybe the battery got below the required voltage for the CDI so i charged it overnight and tried it the next day and still no spark. The MFD is unplugged and bypassed due it being faulty. I have checked the fuses in the electrical box. I have made sure the battery is charged. There is fuel getting to the motor, just no spark. Whats next??

Open the electrical box and check voltage on the red/pur wire going into the CDI while cranking.

I have 10.2 volts on red/purple wire while cranking and i have 230 volts on black and white wire going into coil pack while cranking.

I would try a new battery before going any further. 10.2 is not usually good enough.

Yep, that cranking volt is too low for consistent starting. You would like closer to 11v. Are you using a good quality battery ?
You could also check volts at the battery and rd/pur on circuit board-mostly to verify LR is passing along full volts available.

The 230 volt at coil shows the CDI did wake up and was firing at least 1 cyl (blk/wht is common to all 3 cyl-the other 3 wires are coil input) it should have had some spark at that time-

Ok so I put a new battery in and I have 10.9 volts on the red/purple wire at the circuit board. Still no spark. I'm leaning towards the cdi or the coil. Is there any definite way other than swapping with known good ones to test these parts.

Does it fire if you hold the bilge button down?

No it does not fire when the bilge is held down. Also what kind of resistance should i have on my plug wires.

The CDI should be powered from the orange circuit board-this 12v is supplied by the LR- verify your 10.9v on the red/pur at the CDI.
You already said you had 230 on blk/wht coil wire, Check the other 3 for 230 volts-if they are good ,your CDI is working. (yel/brn-blk/blue-blk/grn)

The quick test for coil secondary/plug wires= from plug boot to ground 3700-6000 ohms (depending on wire length, shorter plug wire=lower, longer wire=higher)

    Coil alone is 1200-1600
