Setting flywheel to correct position in Virage 800 DI

I had to take the flywheel off ti inspect it. To put it back on do you jjsut put the flywheel back on or do you need to rotate the crank in the Virage 800 DI to put it on just right?
What type and how much grease to ypu put on the bendex end and on where the crank oil cone fits on the oil pump?
Do you need to use a gasket sealant to put the front cover over the flywheel?

You line it up with the key on the crank and slide it on.

Do not forget the Loctite on the shaft taper, and on the threads for the nut.

    Different Loctite on each.

There seems to be a spring under the white cap that turns the oil pump in some Virage. I took the white cap and flywheel off a 800i and there was no spring. Was this a option are has the gas fumes gotton to me?
After taking the cover flywheel and stator off then 3 bolts that the housing hooks to the block to do I just pop it off or is the more bolts I'm missing? I tried to pull it off and it would not move somethig seems to be holding it in place still.

What year engine had the spring, and which year did not?

Is the starter motor unbolted and removed?

No more bolts anywhere inside the flywheel housing?

The starter in still in. I thought it did not need to be removed but that would be a tight fit now that I think about it on the 2002 800 DI.
I got a 2003 or 2004 stator and flywheel off ebay and they have a spring with it. I have (2) 2002 800 DI and the one I got a few years back I thought....thought it had a spring but not 100% sure anymore. That is why I'm asking. Thx

Is the spring from the Bendix bushing in the stator cover?
