    Help 2006stx15f

I bought a 2006 stx15f w 30 hours. First outing lost compression and damaged piston. The shop told me old gas. They rebuilt the top end via SBT. They drained tank and I used chevron 93oct when I refilled. Yesterday, first day after rebuild, ran fine first 20mins. Never went over 27 mph to allow break in time. Then it would lose power and start up again but bogged. Noticed white smoke out exhaust. I docked it and later put on trailer and it seemed to be fine but I didn't run it more than 100 yards at very low throttle. Engine sounds good but what to I know. These are almost same things that happened when I lost compression and damaged pistons the first time. What is going on? What do I or I make sure the shop checks? Thanks for saving my 4th hopefully!

Probably a bad fuel pump spark plugs.

Like I said in my pm, check the thread in my signature and post back.

Your be all end all is great But wouldn't a back fuel pump cause it not to run at all. This thing ran great for 20 mins. My thinking it is gets hot and then starts this issue. Injectors or clogged fuel rail? Why the white smoke? Just not sure where to start

Did you check fuel pressure? It should be 43psi.

The fuel pump also houses the fuel regulator inside.

Seriously, check the fuel pressure, check the injectors etc.

If you check and diagnose and correct the problem, you can avoid replacing engine components again.

How do i check the fuel pressure? Novice here . Plugs are easy for me and I can do compression. As for injectors. Can I simple pour in injection cleaner?

you need to buy a fuel pressure gauge and install it on the return line to the fuel pump, it is marked.
