    1996 GTX intermittent no beeps

My friend and I are working on a 1996 GTX. We're about ready to put it in the water but we have one concern. When putting the DESS key on we'll sometimes get the two beeps and the engine starts. Then after a day, (sometimes less sometimes more) we try to start it and get no beeps but the engine still starts. Is this a early warning sign of a something failing?

    thanks

the beepers are notoriously unreliable. I'd replace it only due to the fact that it also plays as the overheat alarm. Go with any 12v buzzer gizmo..the stock one is uber expensive. Radio shack is a good place to shop for one.
