Thread: C&D Canal

Yesterday I started to ride up the C&D canal and when I got to the first bridge there is a big sign saying no jetski. Im just wondering if they changed the rules in the last year because I though jetski are aloud to cross the C&D. Has anyone recently crossed the C&D canal without any problems? Thanks

What part of the world would this be?

From which point did you originate: Maryland, heading into Delaware, or vice-versa?

Hmmmm... I have a PWC internet friend who has originated rides in NJ (Burlington), south down the Delaware River, then west into the C&D (I think). He terminates the trail at the Chesp. City/Hwy 213 Bridge. You can verify the route here: http://pwctrailfinder.com/NewJerseyPWCTrailRides.html
The PWCer who submitted this trail has done it a couple of times, usually in an organized group run and never mentioned anything in regards to a ban on PWCs. Perhaps it's a new ordinance, doesn't apply to the part he traveled, or he got lucky? Perhaps it's a Maryland issue, but not for Delaware? If so, perhaps he's just getting over the line a bit (again, lucky) before turning around at the bridge?
I would appreciate an update as well so that my trail info will be current.

Thanks for the info I stopped at Chesapeake city and turned around. I did go alititle passed the sign and went up about another 50yards up. Went to see if there one anyone in back of me and there was a police boat. So I turned around and so did he but be never said anything . I'm going to try again on a week day.
