    Polaris help 2001

Need help trying to get a 2001 Polaris Genesis back in the water. I kinda got if I could get it ridable. I only know its been sitting for a couple of years. It has a 1200 fitch fuel injected motor. I got it running and almost off the trailer and it filled with water the rear exhaust pipe came off. So now drying it out and will run but won't idle. very rough at low idle. There is a brass fitting down by the crank case that is open. When running it pushed out some water I don't know if it went to an internal vent or ???? any ideas would be helpful..............shadetree jerry

    Where are those fittings located?

fittings are located on the right side or throttle body side. approx. 3" from bottom of motor and 2" from back and the other one is 2" from the front. Above the drain plug. thanks for getting back to me as nobody seems to know what these are for. shadetree jerry

Just a shot in the dark here, but are they pulse fittings that should be capped since the ski is the Fuel Injected version? Looks like the same part # for the Carb'd version.... Do they look similar to this:

Yes that's the ones. So I should just cap them.

Yes you absolutely need to cap them. The Earlier ficht engines had those fittings and had rubber caps on them with a crimped on type of hose clamp.

No sleeping until you get all that water out of there!! Those open pulse fittings certainly didn't help the situation....

Do you know if a 2002 breaker /fuse box will be OK in a 2001 Genesis w/ fuel injected 1200 fitch ??
